Welcome!
What a treat it is to have a rainy day! What are are your favourite things to do on a rainy day on the North Shore? I’d love to hear them!
Congrats to everyone involved in the annual River John Festival Days; we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and there were so many other great events for all ages, including the Lobster Crate Race that attracted 124 participants. I was thrilled to see so many entries to the 2nd Annual Colouring Contest too!

The Nature Conservancy of Canada is holding their “Big Backyard BioBlitz” from July 27-Aug 3. “Join thousands of BioBlitzers across Canada in taking action for nature. When you record the species you spot, you help scientists understand where wildlife is thriving — and where it's not.”
Wallace & Area Rec is hosting 16+ Softball Nights from July 15-Aug 12 from 6-7:30pm, some equipment available
The Sunset Community has partnered with the NS Health Adolescent Outreach Team to support local youth through the ‘Back 2 School’ Pop-up Shop. Donations of gently used clothing (XS to Plus-size) for both women and men, shoes and school supplies. Drop-off at Sunset Industries or Oxford Thrift Store until Aug 17th.
The Hector Heritage Quay in Pictou is offering an Introduction to Bagpiping with Robbie MacInnis. Classes are limited to 4 students per session. Aug 4/11/18/25th either 9-noon or 1-4pm. $50 per student. Register by emailing [email protected]
