Another wintery weekend

January 24, 2026

Winter wonderland

Welcome!

It’s amazing how a blanket of snow makes everything look so clean and bright. Over the holiday break I was amazed by how little snow it takes for a pretty decent coasting party - while we aren’t getting the snowfalls I remember from my youth, there’s lots of winter fun to be had!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a bunch of community events this time ‘round, mostly focused on food, thank goodness! I am really looking forward to finding out what the good folks planning events for the North Shore Winter Carnival have in store for us. Stay tuned!

As always, please let me know if you have non-profit/community events or news ‘nuggets’ to share - I am pulling together the next print issue for February. New advertisers are also welcome :)

Race to 1000 - We did it! - we’re at 1,011 subscribers, thank you all for your support! To celebrate, I am giving away four $50 gift certificates to Ashton’s Garden Centre … to win one of them, please email me with the name of the ‘golden’ spring flower Michael says is “one of the first shrubs to light up the garden after Winter”
