Lazy summer days

August 21, 2025

Welcome!

You’ll be pleased to hear that I did make it to the Wild Blueberry Tea at The Fraser Art Gallery last weekend, and as always, it was a lovely event. Thank you to the volunteers who help keep these traditions alive. I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that the day started with a trip to Barrachois Community Hall for their annual Wild Blueberry Breakfast - and no, they hadn’t sold out, I was a week early! Something to look forward to this weekend folks!

When I was growing up, the stat we often heard was that the average North American eats ¼ cup (or maybe it was 1/3) of blueberries each year - I hope that you’ve managed to do better than that this month alone!

Lots of things happening along the North Shore between now and September - if anyone has memories or photos to share of the Labour Day Parades of yesteryear, I would love to hear them.
