Signs of Spring: Daffs, Mayflowers, ...
April 24, 2026

Gillian at Lismore Sheep Farm shared this photo with me earlier this week. We may not have room in the print edition, and on seeing more snow this morning, I thought you might need to see something fluffy too!

Welcome!
I saw my first mayflowers on a social media post the other day, have you see any yet? I missed them last year and have to do a better job of looking for them this year. I did hear gulls at Murdock’s bridge the other day, so some of the sights and sounds of Spring are around us, even if there is the occasional cold night.
This week I have been pulling together the next print issue to celebrate The Nuggets’ first anniversary, and I am thrilled to say that we’re doing it in style with my first 8 page issue! My sincere thanks to everyone who has made that possible: advertisers for their support, everyone who shares news ‘nuggets’/live music/local events, Dylan Langille at Sonder Creative for the design and layout, Ted at ASE Print, and the readers :)
Watch for some neat features, including one of our best contests yet!
Race to 1000 - We did it! - we’re at 1,067 subscribers, thank you all for being here!
