Robins, Biscuits & Happy Easter!

April 2, 2026

The ice is out at River John

Welcome!

What a beautiful day after a rather icy day yesterday. I think that it was only this week that I saw my first robins, and it felt as it they were less than impressed that Spring weather had yet to arrive. Hard to blame them, but it’s looking better and better.

Congrats to the Wallace and Area Rec on their successful Pancake Fundraiser - they served up some of the best pancakes in town to 176 people, but I was most excited about the whole wheat biscuits with maple butter … growing up, my grandmother seemed to be making biscuits all of the time - white for my brother and wholewheat for me - both served with Crosby’s Molasses. I wasn’t smart enough to ask her for the recipe - does anyone else have a good one?

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and there are several programmes to recognize local volunteers - www.colchester.ca/volunteer being one of them.

Race to 1000 - We did it! - we’re at 1,058 subscribers, thank you all for your support!
